BOARD MEETING MINUTES DECEMBER 8, 2003
Board members present: Carolyn Bunch, Debby Nicely, Christian Weiner, Wendy Meyers, Polly Kranick, Cathy Blodgett, Renee Parrish, Cinda Peters . Also present Rebecca Chatfield (owner of Simpatico) and Jana Steffen and Heather Grassman.

Presidents Report: Wendy gave a report of her attendance at the USDF Annual Convention in Texas. One important change coming out of the meeting is the USDF’s decision to alter their membership year to match the timing of USA Eq. Memberships (i.e. membership runs from November 1 through October 31st per year). Wendy also gave the results of the Regional Representative election which showed Gaye McCabe was re-elected for Region 6.

Treasurer’s Report: Christian provided details of the financial results for the various accounts which were positive for 2003, helped by good results from the Lendon Gray Symposium, the Horse Trials, the dressage shows and driving events.

Education/Flying Changes Liasion Report: Cathy reported she was able to gather and direct all of the information to Flying Changes for the January issue. Cathy reviewed the videotape for Anders Erikson as a possible clinician for long lining seminar. Any photos for the EI section of Flying Changes should be sent to Cinda Peters. Cinda will edit/crop photos before they are sent to Flying Changes.

Dressage Report: Wendy reported on behalf of Kellie Larson. Kellie is working on the year-end awards for the Annual Meeting scheduled for January. Renee Parrish will be the Secretary for the L’Apperitf (yeah! Renee).

Promotions Report: Renee is working on the Business membership requirements for 2004 to include the changes with the newsletter and the ability to feature businesses on our Website.

Horse Park Report: Debbie indicated the next Horse Park board meeting is on December 13th at the North Bend Library. The organization is seeking individuals to be on the board and various committees.

Auction report: Carolyn reported the auction results totaled a positive $7,000. The date for the next’s year auction, at the same location, is November 6, 2004.

Website Report: Cinda reported she is still waiting for the rest of the Directors Bio’s for the website. Heather gave a quick demo of the new site which looks fantastic.
