Chapters of Equestrians’ Institute
As a chapter of E.I. your organization gets the best of two worlds: being a
member of a large and resourceful organization that can organize major shows and
clinics and having local control. Washington has about 6 million people living
fairly spread out and through chapters E.I. can stretch throughout the state.
Today E.I. has two chapters:
The Lower Puget Sound Dressage Club (Full page here)
The Lower Puget Sound Dressage Club is a chapter of Equestrians’ Institute, is
dedicated to the education of its members and the promotion of the harmonious
development of horses and riders in the finest tradition of equitation. Formed
in 1989 the original purpose of the club was to produce what was at that time
the only dressage show in the Gig Harbor/Port Orchard area. Much has changed
since that humble beginning, and membership has steadily increased. The
competition calendar has grown from one to five shows per year. Clinics have
been added. In addition to the reduced fees at club sponsored schooling shows
and clinics, members also receive a monthly newsletter and are eligible for the
year end awards program. The club shows are also Washington State Horseman B
system shows.
Whatcom County Dressage and Eventing Association (Full page here)
The Whatcom County Dressage and Eventing Association is the first chapter of
Equestrians' Institute, we are a diverse group of horse people who love the
sports of dressage and eventing. Our mission is to provide opportunities in our
immediate area for equestrian education and low key schooling shows. We also
support the development of Sunset Farm Equestrian Center (a Whatcom County Parks
Dept. Facility) near Birch Bay. Improvements include a cross country jumping
course and an all weather outdoor arena.
